Why do converters cause SES lights <img src="images/icons/confused.gif" border="0">
I'm thinking of getting a Yank ST3500, will that cause an SES light?

I have had the Vig 3200 in my '02 for 6,000 miles with NO problems. I never had the lockup problems, SES lights, etc. It's been nothing but great since it was installed. It likes to build a little heat in it before it locks up, so you'll drive it for no more than 5 minutes before it starts locking up. Right after it was installed, I drove the car 700 miles each way to Bowling Green, KY and back for the NFRA race. I also made a 1,000-mile trip less than a month after that with no problems. It's a GREAT all-around, problem-free converter.
I don't know the specifics behind it, but the ST3500 has been the converter that is throwing the SES lights. You'll have to ask the guys w/ that converter which code it's throwing.

It's me again...
"I'm thinking of getting a Yank ST3500, will that cause an SES light?" - if your TA is an '01 or '02, probably.
I've got about 1500 miles on my car after installing the Vig3200 in place of an ST3500. No problems at all with the Vig. Nothing.
