Default LT1 Edit cable work with LS1 Edit?

Former LT1 Edit & TunerCat user here (from when I had a 1995 Z28). I sold the car but kept the OBD-II style laptop-to-PCM cable. (Yes, I know my car had OBD I, but since it was a '95, it had an OBD-II style connector.)

Will my old cable work with LS1 Edit? Or do I need to use the new LS1 Edit cable that comes with the program? (Just thought they might cut me a small break on the price if they didn't have to ship me a cable.)

Nope, not a chance. Sorry!

The OBDI cables are completely different (even though you have an OBDII style connector).

The LT1_Edit for OBDII cable interface is similar, but the firmware in the cable is different. So it won't work either.

The ONLY cable that will work with LS1_Edit is the LS1_Edit cable.

Cheers,

Andrew

Thanks for the reply Andrew!

Looks like you'll get to make me another cable soon... Now I just have to wait until LS1_Edit for the 2001's comes out.

In the OBD2 versions they are putting some of the Anti piracy stuff in the cable too. The cable itself stores the VIN it locks too I think, doesnt it?

So if you forget your cable at home, you cant just borrow someone elses LS1 or LT1 or whatever cable
