Default Compare to 2nd file in LS1Edit problem.

Ok I open up on file and then read another flash file from another car to compare and I get a bunch of positive and negative numbers that do not mean anything. I then try to view the files seperatly and still one comes up gook. I then close BOTH files and open each one up individually in a new edit session and can read both fine and they look very very similar, so they should not be throwing off these wierd negative and positive numbers... any ideas?? Or anybody use the compare file function yet??

thanks

I tried the compare function last night and it worked fine.

Stock file had 650rpm idle
Modified file had a 950rpm idle

When I did compare it showed 300. Sounds good to me. I really like the function, it's going to be very, very helpful when people start really swapping files back and forth.

Check the build IDs. I'll bet they are different.

I guess you cannot compare a '98 to a '99... that is what I was doing <img src="gr_grin.gif" border="0">
I used the compare function with two '99's and it worked fine... <img src="gr_stretch.gif" border="0"> <img src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" border="0">

Don't forget, the program does not check to see if it's already running. You can open another instance of LS1_edit and compare files that way too. That's how I compared the Hypertech tuning to stock.

The compare file function is working OK for me, mind you that I've had LS1_Edit for just one day so far, but everything seams OK so far.
