Drill throttle blade or wait for Edit?
I have a cam on the way, and will be installing it right away. I am also going to get LS1 Edit, but not for a while (Within a month or two, waiting on taxes and my buddy)
My main question is should I drill out the throttle blade hole for the idle, or wait till I get Edit?
I am assuming that if i drill out the throttle blade, and leave the Idle stuff alone when I get Edit, it will work ust fine.
I also assume that Edit can adjust Idle settings to make it unneccesary to drill out the throttle, but is there any advantage to using Edit to smooth the idle up vs using the drill?
What exactly is done in Edit to do that? I assume you would just lean out the motor at idle, because that is esentialy what drillng the throttle blade seems like it does. Or does it also raise the idle speed? I woud think it wouldnt, because my understanding is that the computer tells the engine what speed to idle at, and controls it through the IAC.
Am I correct in assuming all this?
Thanks in advance
Troy
I run a pretty large cam (244/610) and have NO hole in the TB.. idles great....if you take the time to program for the air demand at idle, particularly during warm up..
