Re: Hypertech Power Programmer III question? well tell you the truth i don't know. i thought they got rid of that option on the 2001's? i am pretty sure they got rid of that option on the 2001 trucks. well for now lets just say it's the 93 octane setting. would that make it ping on the 2001's? i saw that more than one person had this problem so i don't think that it was just the bad gas excuse.

Re: Hypertech Power Programmer III question? Are you sure it is pinging and not noisey injectors? It shouldn't make it ping, but if you are sure it is pinging. Just put it back to normal programing and see if it goes away.

programmer will put in an average of
2-3 degrees advance.If you have any
MAF porting the combo. with 91 octane
will probably detonate.The MAF goes
lean and the additional timing adds
to it.You really need to richen up
fuel ( MAFT,or LS1- edit) the other
alternative is octane booster when
hammering on it. IMHO <img src="gr_grin.gif" border="0">

Hypertech Power Programmer III question? i have a friend who has a 2001 z28. he is thinking about getting a hppIII. however, i have heard of people complaining that when they changed the fuel type it started pinging. is that a problem with all 2001's or just the guys i heard this from? thanks
