Strange..
Start the cold motor, idle is very rich. O2's indicate abour .150 to .200 !!!
The instant the car goes closed loop, the idle richness goes away and O2's go to about .500.
Where to best adjust for this? I'm guessing Open Loop A/F????
Do you need to run a cold motor rich to protect it?? Or go for .500 ?

O2's aren't warmed up so the reading isn't accurate, right?
Also factory O2s are switching O2s, which means that it's suppose to switch back in forth above and below 0.5.
A cold motor should be in open loop until the O2s warm up and then it should be in close loop at idle and part throttle if I'm correct.

All engines run rich at cold startup, old cars used chokes to do this. Ever tried to start a cold motor in the winter with no choke? Thats a lot of fun.. <img src="gr_stretch.gif" border="0">
I wouldnt mess with the cold startup stuff, except maybe the idle if you have a cam and problems with cold startup specificaly. it wont really affect performance unless you are spazzing when the motor is cold, which you shouldnt do.
