Proper way to set the timing curves?

From the factory the spark table from .60 gm/cyl all the way to 1 gm/cyl are essentially the same.
So when I did the adjustments of the timing curve for my friends car I figured it was logical to adjust all those cells. Based on some reading today I figured what the hell lets see what happens when I put cells .60 -.88 back to stock and only tweak .92 .96 and 1.0
This is on a blower car that is very sensitive to timing so I would know right away if this was a mistake and the car was getting too much timing. To my sorta suprise the car was fine. Rolling into the throttle til 100% tps, slamming it down, couple different variations and all seems well. I left the tune in the car and the owner is going to drive around for a while and see how it feels.
My logic at least would say part to 90% throttle will be snappier as it has the stock timing curve instead of the greatly retarded one for when in boost.
Am I crazy or on to something?
Would love to hear some opinions on this one.
