Has anyone else had problems getting their Auto Tap to conncect with their car if the PCM is programed by Ed? Sometimes it connects and sometimes it dosent. I thought it was my laptop but i can connect to any other car with out a problem.

Re: AutoTap and Ed Wright?
IMHO, if your going to keep autotap, get used to it.
It's not the car, its the lousy design of autotap and the VPW protocal used to talk to the PCM.
The only way to solve it is to sell atap to someone else and get a scanner that meets the EPA requirements for a OBD-II scanner, in this case EPA says scanner must link, maintain the link and if link drops, to auto-reconnect.
So you have a protocol timing issue and atap is not robust enough to properly meet the timing of your PCM.
