Question about Emissions, PCMs, and LS1edit I'm in an emissions county which should start the OBDII PCM scan tests within the year.
What are the differences in '01+ cars that allow them to run without EGR?
Is there any way with a spare PCM, perhaps, to flash an '01-'02 stock programming on to the PCM with a '99 VIN number?
If so, would this take care of the EGR delete on a '99?
Is it possible, with LS1edit, to COMPLETELY DELETE anything about the air pump out of the program, NOT just turn it off. Would this throw an emissions code anyways as long as the cats were hot when everything was tested?
Sorry if these are stupid questions. I'm just trying to find out my limitations with the new emissions laws before I plunk down money for parts that won't pass or go through a lot of trouble with my registration. <img src="graemlins/gr_punch.gif" border="0" alt="[fight]" />
