Which Diag. Tool?
Here's my situation: I bought a 98 Trans Am about 4-5 months ago...water damaged. Installed another motor from a 98 Z28 with half the mileage.....came with wiring and computer.
Car has been recently acting up...can't figure out what it is. had someone with a snap-on scan tool check the car....didn't find anything....but, i also don't knwo how in depth those go. He really didn't know what some of the items were either.
So, with my car being what it is...with possible electrical problems to come....i figured it woudl be best to get my hands on a diagnostic tool of some sort. I;m not looking for just a trouble code scanner. I want something that will go in and check my sensors.....real data...the whole thing. I want to be able to diagnose without paying the dealership to mess wiht it. I have a feeling i could just buy one of these now and save myself all the money spent at dealers.
I don't want to spend huge amount of money either.
I have been looking at this: www.obd-2.com
I have also seen teh ease setup as well.
I don't know what else is out there. the less i spend for more informative setup...the better.
I liked the looks of the ease enhanced powertrain setup...looked real nice. Is this similair to what the dealers would have?
Give me some idea's.......i am looking for best bang for the buck here!!! Also, the more cars i can check for my money to...woudl be cool. That way i can pay for my cost for the tool by helping others out with cheap scan costs.
Thanks!!
then call Tom Pratt at 1-888-366-3273 (a really great salesman) for a discount <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
It is the only thing I have ever seen and used. It works well on my win 95 notebook P120 with 28 meg ram.
On my new gateway machine, it doens't do so well, I have some lockups but I insist on using the DOS versino. I can't even get the windows version to run.
But, I love it. Fun to have.

Good luck. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
