Does Atap and LS1 Edit use the same.....
Does Atap and LS1 Edit use the same..... ....cable? I would assume so, considering that all they have to do (I think <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" /> ) is connect the laptop to the car? Does anybody know, or is somebody with both willing to try? I think it is obvious what I am getting at.... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

That lump (we call it 'the wart') is a pretty sophisticated little device. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> Dave at Carputing designed it, and it works very well. It does contain a microcontroller and support components - and it does something that the AutoTap cable cannot. The ATap cable cannot switch from 1X mode (normal 10.4kbps) to 4X mode and back again - the Carputing wart does do this. At the time LT1_Edit for OBDII was being designed, there were no cables on the market to do this, so Carputing designed their own (and use the same hardware, but different firmware in the cable, for LT1 vs. LS1 cars). The only similarity between the LS1_Edit wart and the AutoTap wart is the enclosure - both use the PacTec CNL DB9/DB9 Long series. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
