Well you really can't tell how the car is performing AFR wise unless you have A-tap or dyno with and get AFR readings... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

After that its pretty easy to make ballpark adjustments...

If your MAFT version is LESS then 5.2,
then ALL 4 switches are set to OFF.

If your MAFT version is 5.2 then ONLY switch 4 could be turned on IF your using a 85mm or larger MAF.

IMHO, if you do not want to chase your tail, start out with WOT rotary switch to ZERO (which is bypass) and only work with the BASE rotary switch until your LTFT is around zero, then fine tune with WOT setting.

If you attempt to start with setting both, AFR will move around tto much and you'll be making change after change, taking longer to do the dial in process.
After making a MAFT change, get about 1 hour engine run time so that PCM meets the timeframe to re-average LONG TERM Fuel Trims before deciding if further tuning is needed.

I have a '99 Z28 and with a stock MAF. I set the dipswitch number 3 to on to prevent setting codes per the instructions. Has been running fine for about six months.
