Auto Tap Question
For the first time, I tried to run a log on autotap and I get a 14-52 "Bad file name" error and it locks up. I emailed the Atapp people and they didn't reply. Anyone else have this problem, and is there a fix for it?

Re: Auto Tap Question
Since you didn't tell us what you tried to name your log file, it's going to be hard to diagnose.
IF you are using the DOS version, the name can only be 8 characters long with NO spaces or other illegal DOS file characters (periods,slashes,etc.).

Re: Auto Tap Question
I can't remember ... do you need to include the file "Extension" (xxxx.atl) when you name the log file?
As above, be sure you didn't accidentally include a trailing space in the log name (xxxx .atl). It's easy to do.

Re: Auto Tap Question
After posting this, Joe from AutoTap got back to me right away. It's good to see a quick response from a manufacturer. Kudos to A-Tap

What's the fix? Mine does that too, on two different computers.
I'm beta testing EFILive this weekend, assuming it works then I won't be using Autotap anymore. The EFIlive that I'm testing works with the Autotap interface. Cool! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Re: Auto Tap Question
Chris, here is what I did to make it work:
From a table you have set with parameters, click on the 'log' tab'. Then select 'Create File'. Give it a name and hit save. This creates an EMPTY file where the logged info will be saved. Now hit the space bar and a red border will come up and you will start logging the info. When you hit the space bar again it will stop.
When you select the log tab, dont use the "Stop/Start Space' function. That is what was fouling me up. Good Luck
