Default New here, starting off with MAF question...

Hi guys... heard this is the place to be for LS1 info, so here I am. Here's my question...

I'm thinking about installing the SLP Smooth Bellow and SLP 85mm MAF on my Camaro (car and mods listed in sig line). I've heard mixed reviews on the 85mm MAF, sometimes people get a noticeable HP gain, sometimes negligible, sometimes it even hurts HP. In your best guess, would I gain anything or possibly lose something in the way of HP by installing the 85mm MAF? Also, would it help to have an aftermarket PCM or Tuner (like Jet Performance Stage II or Hypertech PP3) to see more gains out of an MAF (or all my mods, for that matter).

Any info would be greatly appreciated...

On a nearly stock car, a MAF change will only give power if the car is running rich. If your A/F is good or lean, there will be no gain.
