MAFT and Nitrous - kinda long
I am installing a NOS dry system soon. I do not have autotap or know anyone that does. I want to take it to the dyno and tweak with a MAFT before I spray it. Can I just make a pull, tweak with the MAFT and do another pull to see how it worked or do I have to drive the car for a while after tweaking it? I can get 6 pulls for a reasonable price, but they're not gonna go for a pull, a 30 minute drive, a pull, a thirty minute drive. That would take all day. I do want to make sure the AFR is right before I spray it though.
This is tough. On the dyno, they could run a wide-band to help with your seting up (you could do it all at once and get close) but I can't stress enough the importance of knowing how you're car's running at the track, esp on the juice!
Conditions at the track (weather primarily) will make a big difference! I adjust my maft at the track for max performace given the weather. It's also helpful becuase I can run different maft settings when not running on the juice.
Best advice if you won't be able to monitor your performance - you'll have to errr heavy on the side of richness. Don't set it up on the dyno to run "just right" like you would be inclined to do. Run it rich.
BTW: you don't need a laptop and AutoTap/Ease to monitor (although that's the best way). A ScanMaster would do well on monitoring parameters or at least an A/F ratio gauge if nothing else (couldn't monitor KR though which is one of the things you'l want to keep your eye on).
Hope this helps!

Do you have ATAP or access to a laptop?
Try to get your BASE adjusted so that your LTRIMS are reading about -2 on both banks. Get your WOT to the .910 range and then head to the dyno to fine tune from there.
Good luck,
Chris

I don't have autotap, but I do have a Laptop(doesn't do me any good without ATAP though <img border="0" title="" alt="[Sad]" src="gr_sad.gif" /> ). I do have an A/F guage mounted in my A pillar - I intended on spraying the car for some time now. I think I'll just wide-band it at the dyno and leave it a little rich. Then monitor it with A/F guage until I get ATAP. Hopefully that won't be too long. I don't see a lot of spraying in this cars future anyway.
