What RPM are you feeling this at?

in the 4000-5800 rpm area most PCMs have the timing lowered in some shape or fasion.Mine gets as low as 23deg in one spot then by 6000 I am back to my usual 28deg. Maybe that is what you are feeling. Or if you have a stock tranny with no shift kit on a newer 01-02 car it is going to feel sloppy even without TQ managment. Have you ATAP or TechII'd it yet to see what your timing is at during this time or if you are getting KR?

Also make sure your trans fluid level is perfect or else that will cause it to feel funny. If my fluid gets slow that is the first place I feel it is in the 2 to 3 shift because that seems like where we have the least line pressure.

And lastly I had all kinds of problems with a bigger stall and a ported MAF. All my problrms went away when I switched to the SLP MAF.

I am feeling this at WOT.. I do have a built tranny with a transgo.. Will MAF ends have anything to do with it? My fluid is fine.. I guess my question in.. Is there any other place in LS1edit to delete TM? besides the setting for Torque Abuse...

Thats why I was asking what your shifts are set at because it might have been the low timing thing if you are shifting near peak TQ.

98's have the leats worries with TQ managment also so I wouldnt think that you could be getting much. Also look for some of the posts in the driveline section regarding ported MAFs and TCs because you could be getting a loss los line pressure but 98's usually don't have this problem so I'm not sure if that is it but it couldnt hurt.

As for your exact question, I will look around in there again once my laptop is up and running again later today and see if I can help ya.

im having this problem as well and not sure how to get rid of it. i moved the max torque parameter up to 450 which is more than plenty for my setup and i still see negative timing during a shift (-3 to -6*)

just wondering if you guys figured out how to fix this yet <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />

thanks

There are 3 different sections for torque management. It sounds like you have only played with the torque limit on the engine page. The tQ management during shift is through the table below that max, and the table on the Transmission page. Did you lower, or zero those tables?

Let's clarify this!

The 3 sections are:
- Max TQ
- Abuse Mode: Torque Reduction (% torque reduction)
- Torque Reduction: (% TQ Reduction @ RPM)

Correct? I've got max tq set to 500 and they other 2 greatly reduced. We'll see at the track what this does!

Yep, I got to run tonight and I'm still seeing TM!

I know it can be removed. I've seen 2 cars with bad TM. After PCM's come back from Ed W. - no more TM problems!

Help!
