Default Ltrims are jacked up...

15-20 at idle for Ltrim 1 and Ltrim 2. The car runs great, .890-.910 at WOT and 0 KR...but it seems way lean driving it around at light and part throttle. Do I need to correct it with a MAF-T or bigger injectors? I have a 98 LS1 with full boltons and a cam.

Jim:
Your L-trims are extremely lean @ idle. I would encourage you to buy a MAFT to bring them down. Even though WOT looks good, riding around part throttle as lean as you are isn't good. The MAFT will allow you to adjust your L-trims to as close to "0" as possible. This will have very little to no impact on your WOT blasts.

IMHO if the LTFTs are that high and could go higher as you get into summer heat, going with just the MAFT is not the best path for that means your telling PCM to go richer which means to PCM more engine load and thus lowers the WOT timing.

I would go with SVO 30 injectors which are only about $220 for a set and then use a MAFT to dial it a bit leaner thus you assure good WOT timing, and lower injector pulse width which PCM can control better then long on times.

Best case is instead of MAFT is to use LS1-edit and do a full custom tune of other functions as well as AFR issues.

Is there any way I can harm the engine by driving it around like this? I still don't have an SES light for either banks running lean. I think it was the near 90 degree temps yesterday that caused the Ltrims to be at 20. Today in 70 degree weather they were around 8-10. I think I am going to try a MAF-T first, and eventually buy the 30# SVO injectors if that doesn't work out.

Thanks for the responses.
