Which diagnostic/programming tool should I get?
I'm new to the diagnostic/programming world and was wondering what I should buy. I plan to eventually get gears, so I would like something that I can calibrate my speedometer with in addition to diagnostics and programming. I noticed a lot of people have the ATAP and a MAFT. Is that the way to go or is there a single device that does it all?
I've also heard of the Hypertech Programmer. What does that do and how does it compare to the ATAP and a MAFT?
What is LS1edit?
Thanks!

ATAP: Software & cable that works with a laptop to read your engine computer. Very good diagnostic tool and can read & clear SES codes.
HPP3: Hand held programmer that allows you adjust certain functions, primarily rev limiter, calibrate speedo for gear changes, change shift points, adjust fan on/off temps. It also has Power Tuning that tends to be hit or miss as to whether it helps.
MAFT: Plug in device that allows you to adjust your A/F ratio. Effective for dealing with minor chnages such as those caused by adding headers.
LS1Edit: Software & cable that works with a laptop to read & make changes to your engine computer. Substantially more capability to change and fine tune parameters than a MAFT or HPP3.
