Default p0336 but runs

I'm trying to diagnose a really rough running new 427 I just got going on the vette. The only code it's throwing is a p0336 (crank pos. sensor). I used the sensor of the original LS6. The car starts right up and runs (although rough) and sputters a bit. If the crank position sensor was bad would the car start at all? It doesn't throw a SES light either, it's just there (as a P0336C) when I pull the codes.

Any help is appreciated.
Thankyou,
Derrick

Default

I think that is the code which means you just have to have it realigned with EFIlive or a Tech2. I ran like that for awhile when I swapped out engines and it didn't hurt anything. The only effect I would guess is that the timing would be off and you would not get optimal MPG.
