Autotap or Scanmaster?? which one to get?
I assume I will need either sooner or later...which one is the best bang for the buck...I assume A-tap offers more, but will scanmaster do most of the work?
Thanks,
Bos

Re: Autotap or Scanmaster?? which one to get?
I have both. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
The scanmaster is great because it's always there, easy to see codes or single parmeters. It's also great for resetting codes if you get alot of them (just power off the car, old a button, start the car and then press another button.)
Autotap is very handy if you need to log data. The Scanmaster people have a logging option for the Scanmaster (don't know if it's released).
So, both are handy, depends on if you need the logging or not which to go with.

I guess I would like to log, but I don't want to buy a laptop, so I am going to wait and see if that gets released... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

What's the minimum ATap will run on? I was thinking about buying an old used 133mhz laptop or something solely for the car--

A 133 mhz laptop will do the job. Anything that runs Windows 95 or higher will run the Windows version of Autotap. Any PC with DOS 3.3 or higher will run the DOS version of Autotap.
