LS1-edit ????????????? This has probably been debated before but I've slept since then <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
Is it worth the $100 to get the 1 year upgrade option?
Next question, Am I correct in understanding that the PCM lock is in the converter box? I'd be able to view someone else's LS1 edit file if I hooked my laptop up to their cables?

Re: LS1-edit ????????????? The PCM lock is VIN-related, but it only impacts the programming phase. You can read any PCM, and you can open any other (appropriate version) LS1 file in your editor. (appropriate version - if you have a 97-98 editor, you may not be able to open a 99-00 file).
You can look at files without having any cable hooked up at all. No problem there. But to actually program a vehicle, that's where the lock comes in to play.

Re: LS1-edit ????????????? I passed on the upgrade option. I will wait to see what develops and in the future if they add something to the program I need, I will satrt the 1 year update then. Right now it does everything I need it to.

Re: LS1-edit ????????????? I agree, I plunked down for the updates and look at it as priming the pump. While I would like a better "road map of things to come," it seems that added features are mostly driven by a) the tuners spending the big bucks and they are asking for useful things they need and b) any obvious holes. Lot's of good A4 stuff coming in v1.05, which I think bodes well for future updates.
