Default WHY ME??

Ok here is the deal, at my last dyno which was just about a year ago I had 321 rwhp and 330 rwtq. Since then I have ported and polished my MAF and my TB also installed a hammer cam. Now I'm at a whopping 329 rwhp and 334 rwtq. I believe that is crap. The car started loosing power around 5500 rpms. I autotapped the car while it was up on the dyno and it showed the car to be running very lean on bank 1. I don't know much about auto tap I'm going to have to read a lot more about it. I was wondering if anyone could tell me why it might be running so lean. I have already checked the O2 sensors and they are fine. The mods I have are K&N, MTI clear lid, ported MAF and TB, Hammer cam, and brand spank me new irridium NGK TR55, I have also used the hypertech programmer. Any info will be welcomed. Thanks

the lean condition comes from porting the MAF. without that divider bar, more air is rushing through than those little sensors are registering. atleast that's what i gather. what exactly were your readings? don't forget, dyno readings differ from day to day due to weather and dyno to dyno.

Chris

edit-just saw that you added the Hammercam too. oops. more will know better about your readings, but please post your timing, knock retard, o2's.

I would post all of that but I don't have a clue as to what I'm looking at.

Headers Headers Headers. Whoever installed that cam for you should have made you aware that you would gain maybe 5-10 hp from doing ANY cam without headers. A fastech customer pulled the same numbers from a TR 224. Its pretty sick.

I don’t think you realize how many of us have gained a bunch of power through stock manifolds. There are guys with H/C setups making 370 to 380rwhp through stock manifolds.

I am soooooo tired of people posting this myth about headers being “required” for cam swaps on LS1s. This isn’t 1989 anymore, have you looked at the difference between an L98 or even LT1 manifold and an LS1 manifold? Our manifolds flow great compared to others. This is why shorty headers offer little to no gain on LS1s, because the manifolds flow as well as a shorty.

You will gain waaaaay more than 5 to 10 hp with a C1 cam even through stock manifolds. You should gain at least 20rwhp, IMO.
