Default How to use MAFT and AutoTap

How exactly do you use the Autotap and MAFT in conjunction?

Drive around a look at your average l-trim values. I would modify the base setting to get these values from -2 to -8.

You then can make some WOT runs. Your stock o2's are not very accurate at tuning - if you are in the 810 - 960 range or so there is not much more you can do - unless you want to tune by SOTP.

If you are richer or leaner than that at WOT you can adjust your WOT settings to compensate.

If you are getting KR at WOT you might try richening up the mixture and see if it goes away.

To get the tune nailed down at WOT you really need a dyno.

Or if your case is similar to mine and you don't have access to dyno-tuning, get your base perfect.

Then check your WOT L-terms and Knock Retard.

If you don't have Knock, lean your WOT to the first setting (2%) and A-tap that.

If you get knock . . . set it back to 0.

Without dyno-tuning this is your best bet . . . trial and error.

You wanna run as lean as you can at WOT without knock.

Good luck!

Dragon is right on. You did a superb layman's description. It is just that simple. Just be aware your WOT setting "best setting" changes with atmospheric conditions and future mods and just try to stay at your optimum O2 with no KR...
Good Luck!
