Explain the VE chart in LS1Edit for me.

Explain the VE chart in LS1Edit for me. Since volumetric efficiency is the ratio between the charge that actually enters the cylinder and the amount that could enter under ideal conditions how do we tweak this say after a cam install in LS1Edit?
In LS1Edit we have MAP (manifold absolute pressure) vs what? Is that frequency of the MAF?
When we put in a better flowing mid-high range RPM cam I'm going to assume we sacrificed idle VE and some part throttle VE in exchange for better VE at mid to high rpms, correct? (As we all know, camshafts are tradeoffs in all regards)
How do you know what factor and what ranges of VE to increase, etc?
