Traction Control Question

Traction Control Question My car didnt come with TCS, well I dont think it did, I dont see a button, But i noticed on a friends Camaro the TCS button is next to the fog light button on the dash, well, i removed the dash piece, and where his TCS switch is, i have a blank, but attached to the blank, are some wires, what do those wires go to? TCS? possibly just not hooked up or a mistake or something? Can i get a toggle switch and make that work? I didnt know where to put this post. sorry if its in the wrong place.

Re: Traction Control Question In alot of cases auto manufacturers will run the needed wiring for many of the optional items offered, which is probably the case with the wires running to the blank , but simply adding a switch will not make it functional. There are several other components involved in the ASR system. I don't think it would be worth the trouble and expense to add the cables , motor assembly , and other related parts. I have a disable switch on mine , but it is very handy during rainy conditions, but all you have to do is make it a point to slow down and remember your driving in slippery conditions. The traction control is not a "must have", unless you're getting the vehicle for a teenager or similarly inexperienced driver and in that case , it could save a life. I hope this helps. Take care.

Re: Traction Control Question Thanks a ton, Im actually only 17, but I know my friends camaro and my friends corvette had it, and they had talked about how it made driving in the rain so easy. Personally I love driving in the rain, it makes for an interesting drive. I have been driving for about a year and a half, I really wish I had gotten the TCS option when me and my dad ordered the car. Oh well, thank you very much for the info, it was exactly what I needed to hear.
