Default How much power and I losing with a lower timing?

I did some ATAP runs this weekend.

At first my Long Term Fuel Trim was running at at 25 to 29 Average. And my timing was about 25 to 28 at WOT. At PT timing is mid 40's.

I used my MAFT to bring my LTFT closer to +-0, now my timing at WOT is 17 to 19. Still at part throttle my timing is mid 40's.

Am I losing any power with my timing this low?

Btw I have had 0 KR on all of my pulls with ATAP, my engine temp is about 205 to 210 on all runs.

My S1 O2's are running a little rich right now. I have been playing with the MAFT to get them closer to .89-.91 right now my O2's are averaging .91-.93 with a A/F at WOT of 11.7.

My question is, should I be concerned with a timing of 17-19 at WOT? I am getting my LTFT's and S1 O2's dialed in but how does this timing affect performance?

Thanks.
Lee

well... an 02 has lower timing than the 98-00 due to the different cam. At part throttle since the engine isn't under as much of a load you'll always see high timing like that.

17-19 does seem kind of low. Are you monitoring Knock Retard? If you're running too lean you may be experiencing some KR which will lower your timing.

hmmm... another possibility is that the computer changed into the low octane tables. This could cause low timing. Perhaps try a PCM reset? (key in run position, remove pcm bat and pcm ign fuses, wait 30 seconds, replace pcm ign and then pcm bat, turn car off and back on, if the car stutters or has a hard time staying running you did it right. Takes some miles for the PCM to relearn everything )

I see alot of people complaining about low timeing..myself included..and the number is alot of times around 19.

Looking at the low octane tables in ls1edit....the factory max setting for low octane is 19. I have copied the high octane table to the low table but cars down so can't verified this cures my car...but i heve read of others having good results with this.

Is timing supposed to be observed at wot or at idle when checking? what is the difference or which one is better to diagnos?
