Default Idle problem....Can someone please help?

I just put a cam in my car and I cant get it to idle to save my life.

I have drilled the t-body out to about a pencil sized hole...maybe a little bigger. No luck.

It idles perfect out of gear at about 850 RPM...A4...but if I put it in gear it drops to about 650 RPM and once it gets warm it surges.

Also, on tip in of the throttle it stumbles..at any speed and in any gear <img border="0" title="" alt="[Sad]" src="gr_sad.gif" />

I dont know of anyone with ATAP around here and I cant afford custom tuning right now.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Oh BTW, it's a TR 224/561 @ 114LSA.

Your car is going to do its best to drop the idle speed back to what it was programmed for. 650 is a bit low for a 224 cam.

you can try turning the TB set screw 1 - 2 full turns and see if this helps.

You may have overdrilled the TB hole if you can put a pencil though it. Hard to know w/o ATAP, but if your IAC drops to zero, you may throw a code because it can't achieve the desired idle. You can still drive fine.

Start saving for Edit, you can sell your HPP3, MAF ends, O2 simms, etc.

What year is your car? The 01 and 02's don't have enough timing to get rid of the surging on a A4. I had to go with a 2000 pcm and a idle of 750 in gear to cure the problem with mine and my cam is much smaller than yours.
