Default What does the PCM do when the airbags deploy

Wrecked a few weeks ago. Let's see if anyone has an idea about these q's...

1) When the airbags deploy, does the PCM shut down the engine?

2) Like #1, after the wreck, will the PCM allow restart, or does it set an interlock of some sort that inhibits restart?

3) If I buy a used 98, and configure the drivetrain similar (I have Ed Wright custom programming), I'm assuming that the PCM from the wreck can be used. Am I correct?

Thanks!

TTT for ya
I dont know the answer, but I would assume the PCM has nothing to do with the air bags...

I think the air bag controls are seperate (going through the PCM would be too slow). Sensors in the car that detect a collision and the speed of collision and then deploy the bags seperate of the PCM.

Also I dont see any safety or air bag leads into the PCM

horist is right. when your air bags go off it sets a code in your BCM or body control module that the air bag modules are open and have been deployed. once the bags are replaced, this code is erased. the PCM will still operate normaly.
