Default Guage???

Hello All,
I just got a couple autometer guages and I have a couple questions..
1) Where did you guys go through the firewall at??
2) Where did you hook up the power hookups?? Fuse box or another place?? Explain??

with my gauges, i think we went through the clutch pedal area, however i didnt run them, my buddy did.

power you can get from either the fuse box on the side near the door or at an ac power source from the cig lighter.

I was looking in the fuse box and I saw a spot that says ign with no fuse in it and it is a weird looking hole not like a normal fuse....can I run the power wireing into that??

well i would look maybe for the power wire for something like the radio, or something that only gives power when the car is on, as that is the only time you will be using the guages.

This way, when the car turns on, power goes to the units. When car turns off, it auto shuts off.

I checked the hole with a volt meter and is dead when ign is off and had power when the ign is on

assumming it works like that, thats what you would probably want.

There a hole with a grommet behind your pcm that runs through the firewall. You need to pull your pcm, but its really easy. (Depends where you want to come out in the engine bay). I also used to 12v switched power in from the fuse box. (or you could tap into the radio, cigarette lighter, etc).
