Airbag light stays on constantly

Airbag light stays on constantly I had no idea where else to post this. I removed the steering shaft to grind it down a little bit because it was rubbing up against the MAC's and now this damn light won't go out. I reset the pcm and it still comes back (along with the check engine light). Any advice on how to handle this is greatly appreciated.

Re: Airbag light stays on constantly Have you checked the pcm for codes? Off hand I can't think how anything related to clearancing the steering shaft could cause a problem with the airbag electronics.Is it clearing the headers ok now?
Re: Airbag light stays on constantly Did you leave the key in the locked postion or did you have it in the on postion and rotated the steering wheel? If you rotated the steering wheel more 3 turns while the steering shaft was disconnected you probably broke the clock spring in the column.
