PCM Throws a temp code

PCM Throws a temp code I had my car in for inspection and an oil change. When I picked up the car, the SES light was on, which I have never had the car throw a code. I got back home and turned the car off and started it again, and the SES light was on again. Before I could get a chance to read the code, I had to go on an errand and when I started the car, after it sat for two hours, there was no SES light on. It has not come on since.
Does anyone have any idea what might have caused this ...... might they not have filled the oil filter, started the car and it saw low oil pressure which set a temporary code????
Any thoughts on this... would be most appreciated.

Re: PCM Throws a temp code There are some codes that will set the MIL, but if the conditions are not present after a few ignition cycles, the MIL will reset.
If it happens often, try to get the codes read. Often in this case it's a temporary condition (may be as simple as not having the gas cap tight enough).
I say this all the time, get 2 things: a Helms service manual and a scanner. Good investments.

Re: PCM Throws a temp code Evem though the light isnt on anymore... You should be able to hook up a scanner and check the "History" codes and it should be in there. The PCM holds on the previous codes until they are cleared by a scanner. Check it out...

I have the Helms manual...and the ticky light went out before I got the scanner on. I will look and see if it still has a code in the History area...
