SES light burning out?
SES light burning out? I got an ses light about a month and a half a go, I got it A-Tapd and it said that i had a bad O2 sensor on the left cylinder bank, being lazy, i had'nt gotten around to getting it fixed, then today i was about 2/3 of the way through a trip back from St. Pete to Jacksonville (app. 250 miles)driving in a horrible rain storm and out of the blue my SES goes off. I know that if it runs through its diagnostic stuff a few times and it doesnt see the problem anymore it will turn off, but it seems like that would have happened relatively shortly after i threw the code in the first place. So I guess I want to know if it common for the SES light to burn out, or is it common for the SES light to take that long to figure out everythings ok? Any advice would be great.

Re: SES light burning out? i know if you remove the ses light on gm products , the alternator will not charge .
so watch your battery and see if the car strts to act funny due to a noncharging alt. if it does check ss bulb i guess.

Re: SES light burning out? The SES light, according to my Autotap book, will turn off after XX amount of driving cycles if there is no longer a problem. I believe it is 40 driving cycles, or something like that. Either way, that is a lot of driving.

I figured out that the light isnt burnt out, I remembered a few minutes after i posted the first time that when you start the car all the lights on the dash, when i started up my car the SES light up, so the light is not burnt out, i guess the problem went away, thanks for the responces guys.
