Default Is the MAFT version 4.0 OK?

I have a chance to buy a MAFT version 4.0 for $130, or should I hold out for a version 4.2? I assume the 4.2 is better but have no experience with either one.

damn... I got my MAFT when it they first came out... Version 1.0

If they're already up to 5.2 then they're worse than microsoft.... Release stuff to the public, make people buy it, use them as beta testers, then release fixes as the product is used (instaed of doing hte proper R&D to release a fully working unit)

DAMN.... Microsoft? That hurt like hell! The truth of the matter is that all the versions work. As we added applications we upgraded the software as we nned to. The difference between a 4.0 and a 5 and a 5.2 all have to do with the Supercharged L67 cars. I thought we started with 1.1. In any event we always can provide update e-proms to bring the software to the most current version. If we do an upgrade to fix a problem we supply it at no charge (our discretion). If a customer just "wants the most current stuff" it is $35

That's fair. Never be angry at a manufacturer for improving their product line, not doing that is disastrous.

MAFT version 6.0 started shipping today and I remebered this thread from a few days ago. The 5.2 to 6.0 upgrade strictly has to do with the Buick Turbo cars. However we always make everything backwards compatable when we can. So the 6.0 will work perfectly on the LS1 but is no different that the 5.2 that we are shipping now for those cars. Hope this helps
