The same thing happened on my friends. Ed Wright did his programming and all of a sudden the crank relearn pops up.

Of course, Ed Wright said it wasn't his fault because he took care of it when he had it. So go figure. He said PCM's from a certain supplier were forgetting the relearn. I think Ed is full of crap some time.

I got that code on my car after I put in a new clutch. The guys who did my heads and cam told me that it was because the flywheel was resurfaced. I took the car to them and they did the relearn which takes about an hour. You have to do some process!! It was no big deal man.

It's not an uncommon thing, it occurs when the ECM is replaced or the ECM loses track of the crank position.

The relearn can only be performed with a Tech II device, so it's pretty much a given that you'll be making a trip to a dealer. Shouldn't cost you more than $75. Basically they plug in the Tech II, set it to relearn, rev the crap out of it, and you're all set.

I'm hoping this doesn't happen to me, I have an Ed Wright ECM coming next week for my Stage 2 heads/cam upgrade.

Good luck,
