More Power for 2002 Corvette LS1 I live in the Middle East country of Doha Qatar and have recently purchased a 2002 Corvette Convertible. Although I grew up in the U.S.A. I have been out for many years and know didly about cars without the distributor and carb. What I would like to hear about is what I can do to get more power with bolt on items including any electronics available. My problem is that there are no garages here that I would trust to tear into the engine so I need to do it myself. I have been told that you cannot change any chips in this model.?? Basically what can I purchase and install myself to get optimum power. Cost not really an issue. Any help would be much appreciated.

Re: More Power for 2002 Corvette LS1 If I were you I would pretty much read the posts from the last few months on the External Engine and Computer sections and absorb what you read there. Thats pretty much what I did. All the answers to your questions you will find here. You just have to spend some time reading.
Im dont know that much about the Corvette, I have a Camaro. But what I would look into is exhaust. Im not sure if emission controls are in effect where you are but if not you can really do alot with the Vette. No there are no chips you can swap in and out. Everything is controlled by the Program Control Module (PCM). All American cars after 1996 are required to be OBD-II compliant which is a standard for computer diagnostics. I would look into a ScanMaster/MAFT combination, or AutoTap or LS1-Edit to tune the PCM. Hope this helps.
