Default Compatibility of 2.0 and 1.7 bin/hpt, misc

I know on the new 2.0 software they have changed the extension on the file. Are the two compatible? Also,we are having problems trying to read the VCM with the new 2.0 software. When you start the read it starts normally and after maybe 10-15 seconds nothing consistent, it switches to low speed communications. It will try again to go back to high speed and keep switching between the two. I can use the old 1.7 VCM flash to pull the program out but the new v2.0 is giving me fits. I am running a Compaq laptop with a Keyspan USB to serial, FIFO Buffer set to 8. Don't know what else to try. I have never had a problem reading cars until the flash was integrated with the editor.

Version 2.0 can read the 1.x files, but not the other way around, i believe. You can read vith version 1.7, but if you do the editing in 2.0, youll have to upload with 2.0.
