Need an explanation of skip shift
At anything less than 35% throttle input, the tranny will shift from 1st to 4th. It will strongly resist the driver forcing the tranny to 2nd, unless the driver pauses for several seconds when shifting 1-2.
The options are to punch it at every launch opportunity, or to get a device to defeat CAGS, either a cheapo resistor in the right place, or a nearly cheapo CAGS "Skip-shift eliminator". Several of the sponsors sell 'em, including Tom Byrne, Thunder or SLP.
<strong>but why is it there <img border="0" alt="[kaboom]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_bomb.gif" /> </strong></font><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I was wondering this myself. I have been told that it is so GM can claim a highr MPG on the window sticker. It seems like a logical reason, but I can't vouch for the truthfulness of it.

PS: my buddies 01 Viper GTS has skip shift too...
