Default Torque Converter Lockup ???

Lately, I have been having random unlocking problems on the freeway and cannot understand why. Listed below are the mods:

Stock Tires
3.42 Gear (3.23 stock)
LS6 Cam
LS6 Intake
Mac Headers
No Programming
ASP Pulley

Could it be the 3.42 gear causing problems with the desired MPH or RPM's? Seemed like it started having problems after I removed the Hypertech Tuning which I had a correction for the gear ratio. Would LS1 Edit fix the problem? Thanks

Paul J.

Yes LS1 edit will help resolve that problem.

Moving to Computer Tuning section.

There are number of potential issues that could be causing lock-up problems that Edit can solve.

I forgot to mention I have a PI 2800 Vigilante. It was working fine on the highway until recently after deletion of Hypertech programming. At times, under long idle times, the converter will refuse to lock for several miles. Will Autotap show misfires that can lead to lockup problems?

You won't get a definite answer untill you have diagnosed the problem. You need some sort of scan tool (autotap, ease, efilive, etc.). Once you can scan your car you can get an idea of what the problem is - once you know what is causing your problem then it can be determined if ls1 edit can fix it.

Do you have an aftermarket torque converter? If so, that may be causing the computer to have fits with misfires. The misfires can cause the TC to unlock. LS1 edit can fix that.
