Both the Hypertech and LS1-Edit manuals say not to have a battery charger hooked up when programming. Anyone know why??? Seems like good insurance to not have a battery die when in the middle of programming.
The power coming from most battery chargers is pretty "dirty" (ac sumperimposed on a DC carrier). This can cause problems when tuning. If you want insurance jumper your car to a separate battery (or one of those battery booster packs) - as long as it doesn't plug into the wall you are okay.

Chris is right on. Most battery chargers have very crude filtering abilities. Definitely don't want that AC ripple flowing through your system when programming. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
why would you want a battery charger hooked up to your car when installing a prog. it's not like it's going to take all night, just pull the ebrake before you turn the ignition and that turns the head lights off while programming (assuming you were worried about that.)
