Is the LS1Edit software free, like Autotap (can be downloaded from the web)??? Or you do you have to buy the cable in order to get the software?
I'm thinking if it's free, I would like to get a copy of the software and have a tuner download my PCM to a file for me (of course, I will have to pay him for his time). Then I can see what are all the parameters in there and play around with them. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

if you can find someone with ls1edit(cable and software) they can do a read for you and give you a copy of the software, i think the ls1edit people left this option open in hopes of more sales, if you can see you program you are just going to want to change something, so then you will have to buy the cable.

Incorrect.
If you read the LS1_Edit End User License Agreement, you may NOT send copies to friends, or provide anyone with a copy of the software. You can demo it on your laptop all you want, but you may not send out copies.
Read the EULA in LS1Prog.

In fact I can only look at the tune from the 2002 on ls1edit.slowcar.net because I have the 01-02 software and it refuses to open any files from other years. (Tells me I'm not licensed) I didn't realize this when I bought it, and was kind of disappointed that I could not look at what other people had done.

well ok, im stupid, but with my software i have been able to read another truck and print him some tables for reference. it seems odd that they would let you read another truck, if they were worried about it it would lock on the the first truck that it read instead of the first truck the it wrote.
just buy it, it is very cool.
