Results after PCM programing....
A friend o mine with a FRC and my self decided to fly-in an expert in PCM programming. His name is Chris Bennight from Corpus Christi, Texas. He arrived on Friday night and on Saturday morning at 9:00 am we started working on my car. First of all we took off the Haltech sidewinder and installed the Black Wing, then disconnected the MAFT and proceeded to scan the car. First programming was done for the SVO30 injectors. He had a full table from FORD and the correct conversions for the LS6. Pushed the torque management from 350 LB/ft to 800 (as if I will ever get there). Since there are no dynos here in Panama we had to test drive the cars in order to get accurate info. Our first trial the car was popping through the mufflers. He adjusted the timing. Our next trial, from idle to 2,000 RPM the engine was hesitating a little bit, again adjust the timing. Finally he deactivated the O2 sensors located after the main cats. Reason for this is that next Saturday I will take out both of them. Not because of the 3 o 4 additional HP, but for the stronger sound I am looking for. After 5 hours of adjusting and testing I am glad and happy to say the car is pooling like hell. According to his calculations the car is producing 385 RWHP. No knock, no anything, just perfect. In my honest opinion, this is the ONLY way to go if you are serious about your mods and the only way to make does mods REALY deliver their potential. A MAFT will only take you 1/3 of the way. Programming is the key here. Since I do not know and don’t dare try to fiddle with this kind of surgery, my best bet is to go with a pro. And invest on his plane tickets, hotel stay and professional services.
My friend car has a stroker engine (I believe 412CID) and at the end of his PCM adjustment he was producing 485 RWHP. And with out the 200 shot of nitro. That car sounds like the old 426 hemi and rides like a bat out of hell. Chris ROCKS!!!!
