If I had a tuner do the PCM on my car with LS1 edit, could I then in turn buy LS1 edit and tweak that config with my own ls1 edit?

You asked this question at just the right time!
I had MTI tune my PCM with LS1 Edit back in December of last year. I was one of the early Edit tunes that they did.
Just last week I received my own LS1 edit because I wanted the ability to make changes on my own and not have to mail the PCM out every time. I was very happy with the “power tuning” portion of what MTI did for me, but I wanted to be able to make idle, shift point, fan, DTC, etc. adjustments on my own as I wanted.
I asked Dave at Carputing and he said it should work just fine. ChirsB on here said it would work. And they were both correct. The PCM read and re-program went perfect. Edit read my base MTI file with no issues. Now I can make changes as I choose, and I can always go back to my base MTI file if I want. As far as looking at stock parameters goes, since I don’t have a “stock” file of my PCM I just downloaded some other peoples stock files (same year and trans) just to use as reference incase I wanted to. Edit read those files just fine to.
So in a nutshell, what you want to do should work just fine. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
