someone explain map and psi for me!!
tell me if i'm getting this right.
when scanning with an ease scanner the map sensor shows 47 kpa at idle and 27 kpa when engine breaking and 104 kpa ( map sensor limit) under wot. i also have a blower on the car.
so if i figure this correctly , 0 psi from the blower equates to 47 kpa , but what does 104 kpa equal to in terms of psi ??
when converting 100 kpa is equal to 14.5 psi which doesn't make sense, cause i have the 7 psi kit and i see 7 psi on the boost guage.
do i just subtract the 47kpa that is at idle?? <img border="0" alt="[Banging Head]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_banghead.gif" />

The MAP sensor is reading absolute pressure. You can see this by looking at the sensor reading with the engine not running but the car on. You'll be reading the barometric pressure then. You will not be able to read any boost with the factory sensor as it is only good to 1 BAR. Any boost into the engine and you'll read 104 kPa (1 BAR)
