Info on tuning shift points with LS1-edit
This MY PERSONAL experience, it worked for me, may not work for you.
It is said that in the new version of edit that there is 2 parameters to adjust (RPM and MPH) both parameters must be met in order for the shift to occur.
TRUE........
and they say to set one parameter way low and adjust using the other.
Well.....this does work but has its problems.
I wanted my car to shift at 6400 rpm. So the best way for me to do this using the above theory was to set MPH say at 0 and set RPM at 6400.
It worked!!!
Almost......
My car would shift at 6400 rpm but the car would not DOWNSHIFT correctly.
So back to the drawing board.
I found that you have to set the RPM low in my case 6000, and use MPH to set shift point which is a not as easy because it is trail and error type tuning this way.
However, in the end this method worked. Car will downshift correctly and after many flashes and test drives later I got the car to shift where I wanted it to.
I don't know if this is the best way or not, but it was the best way for me
Hope this info helps someone, and if anyone has a better way please enlighten the rest of us.
