Default LS1 Edit Track Testing... Is LS1Edit worth it on a stock car?

I'M An Idiot!!! This a 2002 Z06 with LS6 engine!!!

Before LS1Edit - 12.48
changed IAT table, Fans, Timing, Rev Limiter.
After LS1Edit - 12.27

0.2 seconds = about 20rwhp.

Using the "McRat Quotient" of $40/hp for NA LS1/LS6 modifications, LS1 Edit costs $27.50/HP (or equivalent).

I give the LS1Edit a "Two Pistons Up" for value for your mod dollar.

I may be able to pull some more outta it, so $27.50 might be much lower.

Your results may vary, not available in Guam or Turkey, see my lawyer for details...

I use the HPP3 timing on mine and set the IAT tables to 0. What did you do?

I moved the limiter to 6900 (6600 stock)
I zero'd the IAT table
I increased the WOT timing table from .52-1.2, 4000 rpm and up to 26 degrees (22 stock)
Reduced fan temp to 194-185/184-175.

I assume you are zeroing the IAT - MAP Timing Adjustment table. Has ATAP shown that your IAT's get high enough to be effected?

I'm zeroing out the IAT Retard table. Yes it was pulling 7 deg of timing.

Keep in mind you can do the same thing with a "timing tricker" which is a 50 cent resistor.

Here's data from slips and AutoTap instead of memory. The only change to the car was programming. ET's are best passes.

Hmmm...i'll have to look at my IATs. On my table, I only loose a max of 3 degrees starting a 50 degrees centigrade.

Hey Pat,

did you change it w/ the edit in between runs? or before you got there?

the timing increase on the 2nd run is higher but isnt alot of that due to your engine being ALOT cooler on that pass also?

You should be ableto squeeze a bit more out of it just by leaning out those O2s. It looks to be a bit on the fat side to me. My LS1 really responds to a leaner diet. (PE vs HP).

What pulls timing in the heat is the Intake Temp Sensor (IAT). Water temp doesn't matter. On Z06's the IAT is REAL close to the radiator so it gives a false high reading.

What happened to your trap speed on the 12.27 run? At the 1/8 mile you were 2 mph higher but by the 1/4 you were .5 mph lower?!?
