Atap/MAFT Help Needed I was hoping someone could help me figure out what to do with my recent ATAP data. I just did a 50 mile baseline run (mixed city/highway)with some WOT. I got ave. Ltrims B1 5.2/B2 4.4 and WOT ave. O2's B1S1 0.920/ B1S2 0.920. No KR and WOT timing ave 28 deg. The MAFT is set at 0 Base/0 WOT.I think I need to richen the base 5% and lean the WOT a little. Does that make sense? I do have a lot of soot on my tailpipes so I'm a little hesitant to richen the base.

Re: Atap/MAFT Help Needed Any engine burning fuel is going to have carbon deposits on the tail pipe <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> Besides, who's to say that carbon isn't from your WOT runs which appear to be a little rich. I would say turn your Base MAFT setting to 4% rich, and drive for 50-100 miles, then log your base settings again (AVOID WOT! Only tune one at a time. Remember, modifying base MAF will also modify WOT.). Try to get those LTFT's to hang around between -3 and 0.. Since MAFT only allows tuning in 4% intervals, you may not get it exactly to 0.
