'99 pcm with a '01 engine ls6/intake

Default '99 pcm with a '01 engine ls6/intake

i have replaced the entire engine in my 99 trans-am(the old one was hydro-locked in a flood) with a '01, ss, with the ls6/intake. my car doesnt seem to be performaing as well as it did with the new engine. my question is.....
is the programming different between the 99 regular ls1 and the 01 camaro ss with ls6 intake?
and i have the comp. from that 01 ss car i took the engine out of, can i just plug that comp. into my car or will it not jive with my car because of vin #'s or something?

also are the injector sizes different between the 99 ls1 intake and the 01 ls6 intake?

You are correct programming has changed as well as injector flow rates. I would think you could swap in 01 pcm and that should make new motor run right, but i question if pcm pin locations are identical or not, meaning you might 01 wiring harness. I would like to know answer to this .

Yes, just plug in the 01 PCM. The pinouts are the same. Using the 99 PCM you are off on the injector flow rate and are setting EGR codes. It should be fine. You could still be off on gear ratio (2.73 vs 3.23), with or without traction control, and some things like that, but it should run better.

Hang on to that 99 PCM, I might be needing it if I can't get the 99 Z28 one in my sandrail working.

thanks alot yall. i am going to plug it in now. by the way if any of you know about a-tap stuff.
here are some values i got yesterday with the 99 pcm.
in the 1-19 range the ltft's stayed around -0.8
and timing around 37*
at wot it 0 out ltft's
02's around 0.872 avg.
kr 4
and timing at a horrible 16* avg.
anyways i guess i will be checking it all again with the 01 pcm just curious what yall thought about those #'s
