Default BCM Scan - anybody - help

Let me start out by saying I have no problem symptoms with the security system. I scanned the BCM yesterday, and along with the normal 12 and 55 codes, I got 25/35 DTC’s “Security Indicator Status”. Upon further review of the manual, it appears these codes are required for the security system to function properly, at least thats what it implies, but since they are called Diagnostic Trouble Codes, it seems it should indicate trouble. All of this leads me to wonder if I am interpreting this right.

Can anyone offer insight? Does everyone get these codes when they scan their BCM?

If you’d like to scan for Diagnostic Trouble Codes, or DTC’s: the BCM (Body Control Module - located under the passenger side instrument Panel – IP) controls all sorts of body mounted functions. You scan it by: turning the ignition to RUN, then to OFF; remove (radio) fuse #17 from the IP fuse Block (located on side of IP at drivers side door); turn ignition to ACCY for five seconds (BCM will beep), then to OFF, then immediately (within 1 second) back to ACCY, it will beep again. The SECURITY light on the IP will flash out codes by flashing and pausing, eg. One flash-pause-two-flashes is Code 12, which is what it will do three times, then any other codes each three times (that’s where I had 25 & 35), then a code 55 followed by two more indicating hardware and software configurations. Do this until code 12 repeats again, turn OFF the ignition, and replace Fuse 17. At no time should the engine run during the scan.

If you have any other DTC’s, I can look ‘em up in the manual for you. Let me know what you find.

I have a service vehicle light on my 01. It threw codes 12, 25, 31, 33, 35, 55, 26 in that order. Can you give me the code breakdown? Also is there any way to just clear out the memory and start from scratch?
