N20 part of "Timing Tuner" ??

Default N20 part of "Timing Tuner" ??

Okay, this one has got me totally <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" /> !! I cannot seem to correctly install the N20 part of the installation. I keep getting alternating red and green lights on the diagnostic part of the install. Everything else was a piece of cake even knowing how to tune everything. Has anyone out there tackled the N20 solenoid install from the "Pilot Relay" to the proper "Relay Contact" as shown on the instructions. This has totally got me screwed up !! Anyone out there in tech land ?? Thanks.

I would hold off!! Im having MASSIVE PROBLEMS with the timing retard part. I tested it last night and almost lost my motor because of it. When the nitrous activates, its supposed to retard the timing... Mine ADVANCED it!!! I was seeing up to 31.5*s on the spray <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" /> and only 27* N/A and I have the N/A set to +4*. I think mine has problems. When the nitrous hit, it sounded like someone through some firecrackers in my mufflers <img border="0" title="" alt="[Mad]" src="gr_images/icons/mad.gif" />

Ill be giving Ramchargers a call tomorrow <img border="0" title="" alt="[Sad]" src="gr_sad.gif" />

DJ99ss,
Most N2O kits out there trigger the Nitrous by grounding the relay. With the time and tune box you need to change it over to a positive 12v trigger. Below is a copy of what I added to the instructions.

Note* Most NOS systems trigger through a ground. With the Time and tune you will now trigger through a 12v switched source. Remove chassis ground for the NOS relay and attach to the Gray wire on the time and tune. The relay will receive it’s ground from the Time and tune. Your 12v switched wire for the NOS relay will now be powered through your arming and WOT switch.

I dont believe your haveing a problem with the box itself since we bench test them before they ship.

Kevin, I talked to Mike today and he told me what it was, Theres no scanner that will pick up the change. The only problem is that the TNT kits dont use a ground on the relay! The only ground they have is the solenoids. I emailed Mike the wiring diagram for a TNT wet kit so maybe he can help.

Carl & Kevin, thanks for the info. I'll try this and see what happens. I thought I originally had it wired this way because of the way the TNT system is set up and still got alternating red and green lights. I will try it again...Carl, your right the last thing I want to do is fry this motor !!!

Kevin if there is any more info you feel I may need please PM me and let me know of any changes with this TNT set up.
