Default Problem with my laptop and the LS1-edit cable

I just bought a new laptop and was under the impression it would have a serial port. To my amazement I found out a lot of new laptops no longer have serial ports. I have found some adapters that allow you to run an RS232 serial port through a USB port. I was curious if this will work and if so where is the best place to buy one and what should I look for in terms of compatability.

Do a search in this forums for USB to serial. There are a ton of posts about it now. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

I used the Belkin USB to serial but while it works great with LS1 Edit, I can't get it to work with ATAP because of the COM port settings. I would email ATAP as I hear they have adapters for sale or know where you can get them that work very well.

I bought mine at Best Buy.
